Description

The village of Qianjiazhai is located on Mount Ailao, surrounded by moist evergreen broadleaf forests that spread across an ecologically pristine nature reserve at an altitude above 2000 meters above sea level. Here, the largest and oldest tea tree in the world, standing 25.6 meters tall, has been growing for 2700 years. This area is also home to the world’s largest natural zone of wild tea tree growth.

Master Xiang selected ancient tea trees aged 300 years, of the typical local variety Da Ye Jun, growing at an altitude of 2500 meters above sea level, for this Sheng Puerh. As always, she employed exclusively manual techniques at all stages of production, fully revealing the essence of the unique local terroir.

Organoleptics

The warmed leaves impress with their aromatic umami: raw mushrooms with notes of sandalwood and grape syrup. The infusions are soft and sweet at first, gradually developing complex fruity flavors that shift from ripe pear to smoked prune with hints of dried mushrooms. A noble, slightly salty minerality slowly intensifies. In the empty cup, aromas of beech forest and summer fruits drying for winter in a warm place emerge. The aftertaste is juicy and endless, rewarding with new tones every minute as you await the next infusions.

Master

Master Xiang earned two degrees and dedicated her life to reviving traditional techniques, settling in a remote mountainous region of Yunnan. Talented and attentive, Xiang is very meticulous when selecting tea raw materials. She is not afraid to experiment and inspires us every year with new fantastic teas.
