Vintage cup repaired with kintsugi V14/5

7 500 UAH

An antique porcelain tea cup restored by a master using the Japanese kintsugi technique. It was created at one of the small local workshops in Jingdezhen in the early 20th century (Qing Dynasty, 1636–1912 – Republic of China, 1912–1949). Such small porcelain workshops were widespread throughout the region at that time. This was a distinct cultural phenomenon later known as “Domestic Kilns.” They specialized in artisanal production of typical tableware sold in small shops. The wares were handmade, produced quickly and cheaply, without strict quality control, which gave each individual piece a unique character.
