An antique porcelain tea cup. Crafted at one of the small local workshops in Jingdezhen at the end of 19th century (Qing Dynasty (1636-1912)). Such small porcelain workshops were very common throughout the region at that time. This was a distinct cultural phenomenon later known as “Domestic Kilns.” They specialized in artisanal production of everyday tableware sold in small shops. The ware was made by hand, quickly and inexpensively, with minimal quality control, which gave each piece a unique individual character.
