Master Wang selected leaves for this shaihong from small tea trees and bushes aged 80–100 years, harvested in spring from one of his own tea gardens. This red tea is made using the traditional shaihong technique, where fixation (fermentation halt) occurs under the intense Yunnan sun. Unlike classic red teas, where fixation takes place in an oven.
Powerful and rich, full of flavors and density typical of shaihongs made from high-quality, clean, yet relatively young raw material. The aroma of the warmed leaves reveals green strawberry, roasted sunflower seeds, and a fantastic red rose.
The spring of the 2024 was dry and hot, which gave this harvest a unique richness of flavors. The infusion is dense and pleasantly viscous, reminiscent of ripe cornelian cherry. The enormous aging potential of this millésime is immediately evident.
Cha Qi is fiery and motivating.
