Classic porcelain tea cup, handmade and hand-painted. It is a typical example of Qinghua—the world-famous blue-and-white porcelain known since the Tang Dynasty (618–907 AD). The traditional technique involves applying blue cobalt patterns onto a white porcelain base just before firing in the kiln.
A glazed porcelain tea cup, in our opinion, is the best choice for tea drinking. It has optimal heat capacity — it absorbs some of the excess heat from the liquid immediately after pouring and then maintains the proper temperature for a certain time by releasing the stored thermal energy. Additionally, the glaze does not react with the liquid and prevents the porcelain from absorbing it. Its smooth surface does not distract the lips’ sensory perception, allowing you to fully focus on the tea.
The tea cup has a conical, open shape with a distinct gradual widening from the base to the rim. Such cups help to better focus on the taste and aftertaste of the tea. They are relatively flatter, allowing for a deeper sip that significantly increases the tea’s contact area with the oral cavity, instantly filling it. We call this effect the “flavor punch.”
